Terms of service

Last updated: 19 October 2026. These terms govern your use of this website and any coordination service we provide. Please read them before instructing us.

1. What we are

South China Medical is an independent commercial patient-facilitation service. We are not a hospital, clinic, medical institution or licensed healthcare provider. We do not practise medicine, and nothing we do constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or a clinical opinion.

Our service consists of coordination and logistics: identifying appropriate hospitals, arranging appointments, translating and transmitting records, providing interpretation, assisting with travel documentation, and liaising on billing. All clinical services are delivered by hospitals and their licensed physicians.

2. No doctor–patient relationship

No physician–patient relationship, duty of care, or fiduciary clinical relationship arises between you and us. Any clinical relationship is between you and the hospital and its treating physicians. Any complaint about clinical care must be directed to the hospital and, where applicable, to the relevant Chinese health authority.

3. Information on this website

Descriptions of hospitals are compiled from public sources, including the province’s published pilot list of 26 March 2026 and publicly reported clinical strengths. Inclusion of a hospital does not imply any partnership, agency, endorsement or commercial relationship with it. Specialty descriptions are indicative only, are not official designations or rankings, and may become out of date. Hospital lists, departments and international service arrangements change; always confirm current status with the hospital or with us before relying on any detail.

4. Fees and payment

Our service fee is calculated on the hospital’s total medical charges in bands: 20% of the portion up to USD 10,000, 12% of the portion from USD 10,000 to USD 30,000, and 8% of the portion above USD 30,000. It is invoiced separately from those charges. The rate is provisional and is confirmed in the written quotation issued before any payment is made.

Fees cover our services only. They do not include medical fees, medication, accommodation, airfare, visa fees, travel insurance or personal expenses.

The service fee is subject to a minimum of USD 500 and a maximum of USD 8,000 per case.

Medical fees are set by the hospital and paid by you directly to the hospital. We do not collect, hold or transmit medical fees on your behalf, and we receive no commission from any hospital or insurer.

Once a written plan is accepted, we invoice 40% of the estimated service fee to begin records preparation and hospital submission, and the balance before arrival. The fee is recalculated on the hospital’s final invoice after discharge, and any difference is settled within 14 days. Cancellation terms are set out on our fees page.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and complete medical information. Withholding material history can render a hospital’s assessment unsafe.
  • Disclose all medications, allergies and previous treatments, including traditional and complementary medicines.
  • Ensure you hold a valid passport, appropriate visa and adequate travel and medical insurance for your journey.
  • Obtain any required consent from a guardian or next of kin where applicable.
  • Follow the hospital’s pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
  • Pay hospital invoices directly and on time.

6. Visas and travel

We prepare supporting documents where the hospital issues them. We do not apply for visas, do not act as your immigration representative, and cannot influence or guarantee any visa decision. Entry is at the sole discretion of the Chinese authorities. We are not liable for losses arising from a refused visa, denied boarding or entry refusal.

7. Hospital acceptance

A hospital may decline to accept a patient for clinical, capacity or regulatory reasons. Where this happens after we have accepted your case, we will approach an alternative hospital from your shortlist at no additional fee, or refund our coordination fee for the unperformed stages.

8. Medical outcomes

We make no representation about the likely outcome of any treatment. Medicine carries inherent risk, and individual results vary. Any statement on this site about experience, volume or capability is descriptive of the institution, not a prediction about you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for any claim arising out of our coordination services is limited to the total coordination fees you paid us for the matter concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of earnings, travel costs, accommodation costs, or loss arising from clinical decisions made by a hospital or physician.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud.

10. Third parties

Hospitals, airlines, hotels, transport providers and insurers are independent third parties. Their own terms, cancellation policies and standards apply. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

11. Intellectual property

The text, layout and design of this website are our property. You may not reproduce them commercially without written permission. Hospital names are used for identification only and remain the property of their respective institutions; no trade marks or logos of any hospital are used on this site.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. The courts of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time you instruct us. Material changes will be notified to active clients in writing.
