Cancer treatment and second opinions
Guangdong’s cancer centres combine medical, surgical and radiation oncology on a single campus, which shortens the interval between diagnosis and the start of treatment — often the most consequential delay in the whole pathway.
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is the clearest example of a volume advantage. The condition is uncommon in Europe and North America but comparatively frequent in southern China, so regional centres treat far more of it annually. If you have been diagnosed abroad, a review by a team that sees this weekly rather than yearly is genuinely worth seeking.
